Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) is a relatively rare type of chronic pain that usually impacts an arm or leg. The cause of the pain isn’t currently fully understood, but it often develops after a serious event like injury, surgery, stroke, or heart attack.
While there is no cure for the syndrome, a combination of physical therapy, medication, and psychological support can mitigate symptoms.
